Kendon's story

Kendon is a keen wild camper and water sports enthusiast, kayaking several of Australia's vast river systems and surf-skiing much of Queensland and Northern New South Wales' coastlines.

During August/September 2000 he hiked independently through Mexico and much of Guatemala exploring Mayan ruins along sections of the Rio Usumacinta. He has trekked independently along the Spanish Pyrenees and the Moroccan High Atlas mountains.

Kendon is Competent Crew certified and has successfully completed the shore-based syllabus for Inshore Skipper. He has sailed from Brisbane to Sydney delivering the yacht "Portafino" for the 1997 Sydney to Hobart yacht race in Australia. He spent 50 days traversing the Atlantic Ocean, has sailed the length of the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian coastline in the Arabian Sea and the notorious Malacca Strait in South East Asia.

His journey's have taken him to over fifty countries around the world, including cycling through the Amazon, Iran, Central Asia and a solo cycle through the Tibetan Himalayas during winter.
