Daniel Transcript from Video - Part 4

20 September 2003 (Venezuela) by Ben Glass

Daniel, on simplicity:

"Two years ago a friend came (from England) to this humble home of mine and spent a week and she was shocked, surprised and happy because when she stayed here she told us she has a family, and her children have everything money can buy and yet when she looked at the children of this village she saw that we are completely happy with what we have. We have to fetch water from the pond, we have to go to a toilet away from the house, we do our cooking, we play in small little fields.

We are healthy and our children are doing very well in school so it forced her to think that the human race can survive and be happy on the simple things of life not just the great things. She will be coming again to this village with more friends to see for themselves."

That is the last of the video transcripts from interviews conducted with Daniel, Indian elder of the Arawak community, San Flaviano - KM46 at the foot of the Gran Sabana, Venezuela.
